About — Jake Lett, Metro Detroit

One designer you'll actually work with.

Hi, I'm Jake Lett. I design websites, ecommerce stores, and print materials for Metro Detroit businesses — and when you hire me, I'm the one who does the work.

Background

Twenty years of design

I graduated from Ferris State University in 2004 with a B.S. in Visual Design and Web Media — an actual graphic design degree, not a bootcamp certificate. I started as a graphic designer in Grand Rapids, then moved to Southeast Michigan and worked at an advertising agency and design firms, where the clients were automotive suppliers and industrial manufacturers with constant catalog, spec sheet, and trade show needs.

From there I spent time as a web designer at Flagstar Bank, redesigning pages that improved organic search traffic and product openings. Since going independent, I've designed and built sites for Michigan businesses on WordPress, Shopify, HubSpot, and BigCommerce.

Along the way, my Industrial Pro theme was selected for the HubSpot marketplace, and I've written self-published books on Bootstrap and HubSpot CMS. I mention these because when a solo designer asks for your project, you deserve evidence he can carry it alone.

I work out of Clinton Township, which means I can meet Metro Detroit business owners in person when a project calls for it — and handle everything remotely when it doesn't.
